Apache Junction, AZ Feb 1st--10th

Feb. 1st
Last night we had a steak dinner at the Texas Roadhouse Resturant with Sid and Carol.
We said our goodbyes to the Tolchinskys(off to Palm Springs) and we are on our way to Apache Junction (3.5 hour north of Yuma). Jim,Gail,Arvid, and Glenda (our Minnesota friends from last year) welcomed us to Golden Sun RV Resort.
Gary,Karen,Brian,Shirley, and Graham Tedd are in Sunrise RV Resort, next to us. They invited us for a lovely dinner and enjoyable evening.

Feb. 2nd
We had a pizza lunch with our Minnesota friends. The Howells picked us up at 3pm to drive to the Jobing.com arena for a hockey game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Phoenix Coyotes. The sports complex in Glendale has lots of resturants, bars, and stores. The nachos and drinks at Margaritaville were awesome. Brian,Shirley and Graham also came to see the Canucks win 6 to 0. The coldest temperatures on record in the Phoenix area -- below freezing.

Feb. 3rd
A second very cold day. We drove around and had lunch at the Mining Camp Resturant.
We joined the Howells,Regans and Graham for a 50's night at their resort--burger and fries with a root beer float. We had a great time at the dance afterwards. Ralph took off our water hose so it would not freeze.

Feb. 4th
Ralph went to shuffleboard while I cleaned. Ralph purchased a 10 speed bike for $10.00.
I'm looking for a old bike,too.
Gary,Karen and Graham came to our 5th wheel for supper. Brian and Shirley joined us for dessert. We had a good visit with them all.

Feb.5th
We went to the resort's pancake breakfast at 8 am. We picked up Brian,Shirley and Gary (Karen and Graham sick)and drove to the Great Canadian Picnic 10-3pm at South Mountain in Tempe-- sunny 62 Deg. F today--music,games and different booths. We stopped at Costco and then,Filly's for beer and music on the way back. Jim (Minnesota) gave us freshly picked grapefruit, oranges and pecans in the shell.

Feb. 6th
The seven of us had breakfast at IHOP. Ralph and I went to the Mesa Market in the afternoon before going to the Sunrise RV Superbowl party. Chili and hotdogs were served. The Packers won 31-25 over the Steelers--- it was a good day all round.

Feb. 7th
It warmed up to 72 Deg.F. (22 Deg. C) I shelled a bag of pecans (what a job!!) while Ralph was at shuffleboard. Ralph went for a bike ride with Graham ,Gary and Shirley in the afternoon.
The Howells came to our resort for the Missouri Opry concert at 7 pm. It was good.

Feb.8th
We picked up the Howells and drove through the beautiful Superstition Mountians. We stopped at Tortilla Flats for lunch and listened to a country band. The views of the valleys, lakes and peaks of the Superstition Mountains are breathtaking. The narrow, winding roads take you by thousands of cacti, especially Saquaro.A warm, sunny day.

Feb. 9th
Laundry day. Ralph rode his bike over to Sunrise RV while I did photos and read. It was windy in the a.m. but 20 deg. C with no wind later on. A very relaxing day.

Feb. 10th
Ralph went picking grapefruit and oranges from 9 am to 12:30 pm. We took some over to the Howells,Regans and Graham after 1p.m. We spent the afternoon having appetizers and drinks.
Three other couples( Calgary) drove up from Casa Grande to visit for the day. In the evening Ralph and I went to the Hitching Post for pizza and music. Then we did the blog.
